CP-404 is the whole vocal chain in one window. Twenty modules in a fixed order, from gate and de-ess through hard tune, harmony and vocoder, out into stutter, ducking delay and reverb. Click a module tile and it opens as an overlay sized to its own controls — nothing is buried three menus deep.
Presets live on a 5 × 10 pad grid with bank buttons, which is the sampler the name nods at. Hit a pad, hear a finished vocal.
In order, left to right across the rail — plus a master strip with in, out, blend and tape-stop.
Retunes to a scale with a TD-PSOLA shifter — the grains are unmodified snippets of your own signal, so formants ride along instead of turning into a chipmunk. Hard tune pulls a 452 Hz note to 440.
Extra voices off the same pitch analysis: in-key harmonies, octaves up or down, and a subtle double for thickness.
The classic talking-synth voice, built on the same analysis, with level tracking so it doesn't run away.
Vinyl surface noise and crackle, gated to your input envelope so digital silence stays silent.
A ducking delay — repeats step back while you're singing and fill in the gaps when you stop.
An FFT-accelerated YIN tracker (0.09 cents) feeding a TD-PSOLA shifter: every shift ratio lands inside 0.74 cents, octave-up stability 0.07 cents.
Click pitch classes to say which notes are legal, and watch the note you're singing light up on the keys as you sing it.
Two full skins, with a true-geography chart of the Hawaiian chain laid across the water along the bottom.
Aspect locked, and the size you choose is remembered next time it loads.
Five banks of ten pads.
Save your own alongside them — they land in your user folder and survive updates.

Award Audio Tools. A step-by-step INSTALL.txt is in the zip.
